A practical city guide
Barcelona with a dog: plan what you can enjoy together.
A good city day starts with the places you want to visit and your dog’s usual rhythm. Some plans work together; others need a separate care arrangement. These official sources help you decide before buying tickets, then leave room for travel, walks and rest.

Sagrada Família: arrange care for the indoor visit
Pet dogs cannot enter the basilica; assistance dogs are an exception. Check the separate tower conditions if relevant.
If the interior is on your itinerary, work backwards from your ticket time. Leave room for a calm handover and the journey to the entrance, then agree collection around the rest of your day.

Casa Batlló welcomes pets with owner supervision and staff approval. Check your intended visit directly with the venue.
Permission to enter is only one part of the decision. Think about how your dog handles unfamiliar indoor spaces and a busy outing. You can choose a shared visit or plan a quieter care period around it.

For dogs outside carriers, TMB metro rules cover identification, permitted times, a muzzle and a short fixed lead. Assistance dogs and animals in suitable carriers have separate provisions.
Read the conditions for the transport you will actually use; do not assume metro and bus rules are identical. Plan the return journey too, especially when your ticketed visit ends near a busy travel period.
